Ikat
A popular technique where unique patterns are created using a labour-intensive process. It involves tying bundles of threads using rubber to create the desired pattern. The exposed parts of the threads are then dyed in different colours and once dry they are woven into fabric to create unique ikat designs. The signature blur on most of these designs is easy to identify and very valued.
